WEDDING GUIDELINES
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Thank you for considering a pastor from Zion City to officiate your wedding. We consider it an honor to be a part of your special day. Our pastoral team is committed to helping you prepare for your upcoming marriage. This brief guide will provide answers to your questions about having a member of our pastoral staff at Zion City officiate your wedding. These guidelines allow our pastoral team member to best serve you on your special day. Please contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to sharing this exciting time with you.
PREMARITAL COUNSELING
We believe God has a wonderful plan for your life and your marriage. As you consider the sacred covenant of marriage, we want to make the preparation experience positive and rewarding for you. One of the greatest ways to prepare for marriage is to participate in an in-depth premarital counseling program. If you are interested in being married by a pastor from Zion City, you must complete our SYMBIS pre-marital counseling. Contact the church office at (520) 293-6386 for more information. Completion of this pre-marital class is required to have a pastor from Zion City officiate your wedding.
OFFICIATING PASTOR GUIDELINE
To be married by a member of the Zion City pastoral team, both the bride and groom must first
complete our pre-marital program at Zion City. The officiating pastor’s availability will be
confirmed once the pre-marital course has been completed.
While you are welcome to request a specific pastor to officiate your wedding, please note that
due to scheduling demands, we cannot guarantee their availability. You should be prepared to
have any available Zion City pastor officiate your ceremony if your preferred choice is
unavailable.
For offsite weddings, we require a minimum of one month’s notice. Weddings held at Zion City may
need even more advance notice due to possible scheduling conflicts. We strongly encourage early
submission of your request to help ensure availability.
All inquiries, details, and any last-minute changes related to your ceremony will be coordinated
through the office of the assigned officiating pastor.

We recommend honorariums for the officiating pastor begin at a minimum of $200 and should be
given on the day of the wedding
